Stock Wood is a new roleplaying site suitable for all adventures because of its fantastic 17 acres of iron age village, camping amenities and spectacular woodland. Legion of Dreams has chosen Stock Wood as its new site because, however good your imagination is, it's important to have surroundings that can transport you to another world - and the Iron Age village and surrounding woodland of Stock Wood will certainly do that.

The iron age village
Stock Wood lies on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean near Coleford. It has been transformed into an enclosed clearing housing an Iron Age style encampment of three genuine roundhouses. These buildings, including residential and workshop roundhouses set within a palisaded enclosure, show the different building styles and materials used in the area during the late Iron Age. With open fires and dry-stone walled chimneys, players sleeping in the roundhouses can be guaranteed to fend off any evening chills - there is also a communal open fire in the encampment which is perfect for steaks and roast lamb, one-pot cooking, and any kind of evening revelry!
The encampment also boasts several wicker-framed stalls, so vendors need not worry about the time and difficulty of bringing their own infrastructure when setting up their stalls. The woodland and scowles
Outside the palisaded village enclosure are a graveyard and the scowles-strewn woodland. This is an ancient iron-mining landscape, perfect for live roleplaying encounters. Scowles are early cave systems rich with iron providing a ready source of iron ore to be mined from the surface. It is said that J.R.R. Tolkien visited these scowles shortly before writing the Moria section of Lord of the Rings.

Existing amenities include:
- Area for camping and parking
- Environmentally-friendly compost toilets (not whiffy at all!)
- Running water
- Monster hut
- Round house accomodation for players and/or crew as required
Amenities under construction include:
- Fully-catered tavern in the style of a log cabin
- Warm, comfortable sleeping quarters
- Showers
- Shop selling LRP kit and essential toiletries
The local village of Clearwell
Just at the bottom of the site lies the pretty village of Clearwell. It boasts a decent restaurant/pub with ridiculously large portions, and a hotel with a bar that serves bitters. The hotel has already stated it is LRP-friendly, so players and crew will have a perfect opportunity to sink a few while setting up camp or saying goodbye after an event - either in kit or out of it.
