Sleeper in the Mist: 11 - 13 January 2008
 Avatars walk the land and in their wake comes war, pestilence, famine and death. However, all this has passed the quiet agricultural village of Verdant by, as it lays in the Fields of Anuke, long a bread basket area, providing staples to both the lands of Anvil and Aurea. Quiet and largely peaceful, its only problem for many years was one of banditry. The local Omagan Lord Helmaren has grown rich from its income. With the gold he has earns from the land he quelled the bandits and installed a firm and strict rule of law which enriched his subjects. Then war took both him and most the militia to far flung lands. His steward and executioner Moran now calls for mercenaries to respond to growing lawlessness amongst the residents, increasing threats from bandits and rumour of famine taking the usually lush land. The church of Omaga, Kirin and Celuviel has appealed for those of charitable heart to aid this call. A recent posting in major towns with criers advertise a payment of 3 crowns offered by the church of Omaga for helping Steward Moran to re-establish order in the village. Artist: Paula Dudzik |
