Fartrek - The Search for Jack: 1 - 3 Aug 2008

fantasy art
Once in a lifetime, there comes a hero so brave, so strong and so attractive to women that fate sees to it that he is to be killed in battle fighting against insurmountable odds. This was the fate of Sir Horace ‘Jack’ Forbes-Bellows, Earl of Crudly and Viceroy of Turdle.

A noble, handsome man, it was his destiny that he fight the good fight and take arms against the evil empire of Ungash where women are forced to wear trousers and small fluffy animals are spit roasted over fires made from sweet herbs & aromatic woods to add flavour.

He made an expedition to penetrate the borders of the Ungash Empire to accumulate information to aid his righteous cause. With him was his equally handsome and dashing younger brother, Charles, who swore he would never leave Jack’s side, even after death. A promise that he kept until now...

It was on this expedition that both were assaulted by over 100 bloodthirsty and ravenous orcs, with only one thing on there mind: the brothers’ deaths. Both were slain at the hands of the diabolic hordes, even after they slew almost 20 each using a pair of small hunting knives. Their bodies were mutilated and scattered to the four winds by the cruel monsters, thought to be lost forever...

However, Charlie’s heart was pure, he outfoxed Sil-Tek herself and fought his way back to the land of the living. Wyrd-Dren was to play another trick on Charlie, for as he summoned members of the Bellows side of the family to seek clues to Jack’s essence, Tius, Charlie’s younger brother was to suffer the same fate.

Crazed and battle weary, Charlie still fights to find both his brothers and reclaim the honour of his family. For it only when they are returned, Charlie can rest and seek solace once more in the knowledge that he has, yet again, helped others less fortunate than him for no personal gain.

And so this is the story that has come to your ears. A family member in trouble, no matter which side of the family, must be helped when honour is at stake. You have sent messengers to Charlie to let him know that you are fully behind him and will meet him at the Jack Inn in Lower Pottle, South of the Emerald Gap in three cycles. You are expecting trouble so will prepare for all that may be thrown at you.

LRP Event details

Event This is a low to mid level adventure ONLY for members of the Bellow, Forbes, Forbes-Bellows families or those specifically invited by Charlie Bellows.

Those who do not possess a family member you may start a new character based on the family backgrounds below:

Bellows Family – some would describe them as ‘Salt of the earth’ or ‘loveable rogues’. Others would call them ‘dodgy geezers’ or ‘sneaky gits’. Whichever outlook you have, they are straight laced and tell you how it is. Unless they are scamming you, of course, in which case don’t trust them as far as you can spit them. However, they are not cold hearted and those who have attended a Bellows gathering have found them to be most amiable hosts... just leave your valuables at home.

Forbes – this side of the family is like chalk to the Bellows cheese. Many of the Forbes side have made their names in good deeds and virtuous endeavours such as holy quests in the name of their lord, dedicating their lives to saving the wretched or just being really, really, nice to people. Although many are fanatical, some still have managed to balance out and out goodness with some common sense.

Forbes-Bellows – These are the odd ones out in that they fall in the middle of the two ruling families but the members have tendencies either way. Some have tried to emulate their higher class Forbes roots but do not quite hit the mark, whilst others try and be ‘one of the boys’, only failing to deliver the goods when needed. However, all still managed to have the strength of will to excel at something.

Location Stock Wood, Gloucestershire.
